AllStar Tip: Full Duplex with Headset on Radio-less Hub

Thanks to this post in the AllStarLink community, I came across an inexpensive headset with the right chipset to provide plug-and-play compatibility with my radio-less hub.

At about $30 on Amazon, the Mpow 071 USB headset is an affordable way to upgrade your radio-less hub with a full duplex direct audio experience. The volume down key works as the PTT and with the node set in full duplex mode you can talk over people at your hearts content.

Just remember most people using a simplex RF node won’t be able to hear you and you probably won’t look as cool as a NASA astronaut with it on!

Thanks to Adrian KK6HNG for the original idea to pursue this and to the author of the post in the ASL community.
